Teaching Real Development Skills That Matter

We started BeginXDriveHub because too many bootcamps were promising miracles. Instead, we focus on building solid foundations and practical skills that actually work in Taiwan's growing tech industry.

How We Got Started

Back in 2022, I was working as a freelance developer when three different clients asked me the same question: "Where can I find junior developers who actually know how to code?" The bootcamp graduates they'd hired knew the buzzwords but couldn't build anything that worked.

That's when we realized Taiwan needed something different. Not another six-week intensive promising instant careers, but a place where people could learn proper development practices. We started small — just evening classes in a rented space near Taoyuan station.

Now we help about 200 students each year. Some become developers, others use coding skills in their existing careers. What matters is they leave with knowledge they can actually use.

Meet Our Instructors

We keep our team small because good teaching requires personal attention. Both our lead instructors have been coding professionally for over eight years.

Stellan Bjørklund, Lead Frontend Instructor

Stellan Bjørklund

Lead Frontend Instructor

Stellan moved to Taiwan in 2019 after working with React teams in Stockholm. He specializes in component architecture and has this weird ability to explain complex concepts using everyday examples. Students say his debugging sessions are like watching detective work.

Vesna Tomić, User Experience Educator

Vesna Tomić

User Experience Educator

Before joining us, Vesna spent five years designing interfaces for Taipei startups. She teaches our CSS and design modules, focusing on making websites that real people can actually use. Her background in psychology helps students understand user behavior patterns.

What We Believe

  • Code quality matters more than speed. We'd rather you write ten lines of clean code than fifty lines of messy shortcuts.
  • Real projects teach better than tutorials. Every assignment is based on actual client work we've done.
  • Everyone learns differently. Some need extra time with JavaScript concepts. Others struggle with CSS layouts. We adjust our pace accordingly.
  • Honest feedback helps growth. We'll tell you when your code works and when it doesn't. No sugar-coating, but always with constructive suggestions.
  • Local context matters. Taiwan's tech scene has specific needs. We teach frameworks and tools that companies here actually use.
